Does anyone know where to get the upgrade kit for this accessory. Lionel no longer offers it as an item.

That said, if i can get the mother board as a separate item, does anyone know of a parts supplier that offers the connection harnesses? are they items that can be purchased from Radio shack or the like?

thanks in advance

thanks neil.

I had not noticed the wire harness and the tech rep ----who was extremely helpful and support oriented---didn't indicate it was available. I'll try again next wed to check it out with them using the part number. This will be very helpful. I tried the lionel data base and didnt get the item returned.....

The boards though are not the 'mother board'. these are the individual components that deal with driving the motors, sound and smoke. The mother board is the component into which all of these sub-parts fit together with a series of harnesses to bring 'power' to the various items. It is apparently this mother that was/is the problem with the accessory and the harnesses that they no longer sell.

The lionel rep gave me the instructions on which colored wire goes where in the harnesses.... It is harnesses that were included in this kit that I can't seem to locate to purchase.

The issue is that to reconnect a motherboard the harnesses need be snipped and rewired with standard wire nuts. There are six of these harnesses in various sizes that need sniping and reconnecting to the new improved mother board with harnesses.

I am sure there is a shortcut if i were more electrically inclined.

Long answer, but you gave me hope that maybe they have the kit, in parts and not as a kit. ....i'll be an expert on this soon, i am sure
