Can anyone tell me if the LIONEL PERE MARQUETTE HEAVYWEIGHT MADISON SET PASSENGER CARS, ( 6-19039, -19040, -19041, -19042) released in 1991, will operate on 31" radius track?

After looking at photos of them on eBay, I would say YES...in fact, I'd bet they'd be OK on 027. Joe

Lionel's catalogs didn't specify minimum operating radius back in 1993 (not 1991), when the cars were cataloged. However, current catalogs do shown minimum operating radii of similar cars.

Go to Lionel's website and enter "Madison" in the product navigator field. Look at the cars with the same length as the PM cars, 14-5/8". Amazingly, Lionel does specify O-27 as the minimum radius. It's hard to believe they wouldn't interfere with O-27 swiches, tho.

Hello Boxcar Willie! Like your screen name. Anyway, The Pere Marquette Passenger Cars will run on 031 curves as the center wheels have no flanges in order for this to be accomplished. Take Care.

Actual original Madison cars, as well as the modern Lionel reproductions, have no trouble running on O27, without any modification. I run a train of eight of them all the time behind my (modified) Hudson.
