Looking for a parts source
Posted by FCnota on Thursday, April 13, 2006 7:58 PM
Hello all. I'm pulling my hair out here (and I didn't have much left to start!) I have a Lionel model 0494 rotating beacon (red & green lens) and have been trying to find the correct bulb and socket as well as the tiny rubber gasket to turn the beacon. I've tried the Dupage train show a few times, but maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Would somebody have the part numbers? Or, could you tell me how to get the numbers?? Thanks for the help!

Hello Fred! Olsen's Toy Train Parts has Diagrams for Toy Trains & Accessories! Go To their website & type in "494 Beacon" & the diagram should show up on your screen with the proper numbers & they should have the parts you need or backorder them for you. Take Care.

Well, did pretty good, I found part numbers for everyhting I need except the bulb socket (a 151-51 bulb). Now that I have the correct bulb number the socket should be easy enough! Couldn't get the diagram to show up. Everytime I clicked on what should have been it, I was sent to some forgien language site. Anyway, thanks again! Fred

Hello Fred! Give Dr.Tinker's Toy Train website a try for your Bulb Socket. Another Very Good Parts supplier is Jeff Kane at the Train Tender. Both of them have excellent service & delivery. Take Care.
