thatboy37, have you used the Trains.com schedule of events to find train shows in your area? Just click on the Trains.com logo at the top of this page and then next page you will see has another link, "schedule of events".

If it's the same model(CSX) that came out in 2000 they are pretty pricey, even on E-Bay. The last one I saw went for well above MSRP.

There are several shows each year in St. Louis, which is within your range (barely) if I remember right. The Boeing Employees Model Railroad Club swap meet happens twice a year and is a good show. It's an all-gauge show, but there's always plenty of O gauge there, even when GATS schedules its show on the same weekend. The next Boeing show is in September. The TCA puts on a show every December that's very good. GATS makes 2-3 appearances per year near St. Louis (usually Collinsville, IL) but I wouldn't drive six hours for GATS.

thanks again for the lookouts guys. well i got my first taste of a train show today and i was quite impressed with the show. i was one of the first ones there and they didnt have much of what i was looking for. so the trip lasted about 30 minutes for me and i left. they had 8 or 9 tables with guys selling trains. also they had 2 layouts one 16 x 16 and the other 10 x 8. i didnt really know what to expect being that it was my first show, but i really enjoyed the show. i have to say that was my first and definitely want be my last to attend. hopefully i can find some more that are happening soon and close to memphis, tn. talking driving distance of 5 to 6 hours. thanks memphis for showing me what this hobby is like and what to expect. anxious and ready for the next.

Another possible option...

Williams Trains currently makes a Dash 9 in the CSX road name. It is the same size as the Lionel trainmaster version but lacks the command control, railsounds, etc.

It might be possible to add TMCC and railsounds to the Williams engines. There have been a couple threads about people adding these features to their engines. I can't remember the names of the companies that sell the boards so hopefully someone who has done such an upgrade will chime in.

Enjoy,
Birds

If any of you go to any shows or hobbyshops this weekend could you please keep a look out for these two items. CSX DASH 9-44 CW item# 6-18283 and C.N. DASH 9 -44 CW item# 6-18287 both items are O SCALE TMCC. If you could get a number to the dealer for me I would greatly appreciate it. I'm looking for one of each of these to add to my collection of Diesels. As for i will be looking for the items myself. Also if there are any items you guys are looking for let me know i can check the shops and shows that i will be going to this weekend for you in exchange. Finally since I've been in Memphis, TN there is a show here in town and cant wait for the show to start. And thanks for any responses in advance.
