Information on the 8801 (not 8808) can be found in Lionel Service Supplement 1-9, downloadable from Lionel's website.

The part number for the brushes was 8040-150. The brushes (or similar replacement brushes) should be available from any Lionel parts dealer.

Does anyone know where I can find brushes for the Blue Comet 8808 Lionel? I can't seem to find much info on that train. Best Regards, Jake
