Thanks, Laz.

Those PRR cars are pretty sharp! I think I'm going to wait for the California Zephyr 2 packs to come out later this year. One of them is a vista dome. I'll just make them over as Santa Fe cars. Gotta have a vista dome!

Thanks for the great info, guys. The cars are decorated differently. That's not that big a deal. But I was hoping one of them would be a vista dome.

Jim, the 39059 add-on passenger set was for the 21973 (RS) or 21974 (SS) sets shown in Lionel's 2001V1 catalog. They're the same type, but there is a difference in decoration - red/yellow stripes above and below the windows for the 2001 cars, black/yellow/red stripes below the windows for the El Capitan cars.

You can see the details if you access the catalogs on Lionel's website.

JIM,
Looks like the same car.
Lite interior, doors open, diafram.

Opening doors, Laz? The El Capitan cars are 13.5".

Here's a link to an auction for an El Capitan car. Same style?

JIM,
I have the PRR set of 39065 and add on 39092 they are a 13.5 inch car which would probably work with the set?

I saw an ad in CTT that has a Santa Fe Streamliner 2 pack, part number 39059. The ad lists the set for $99.95. Are these cars the same type as found in the current El Capitan set or different? When were they originally released? Does anyone have any info on these cars?
