You guys are making me nervous. I am going to be placing a decent sized fastrack order in the the next few months and I don't want to wait 6 additional months to get them in. Is the delay (shortage) really that bad? my kids will never wait that long. . .[:(]

That can be frustrating, no doubt about that. FasTrack is such a hot item it seems that Lionel is having trouble keeping up the stock. What's the point of showing all these great items in the catalog if you can't get them?

It seems that the majority of track plans in the magazines are based on either the Atlas or the GG track system, and Ross switches. I guess FT isnt the system of choice when it comes to permanent layout plans, but I know everything has its place. Who knows, I am sure one day there will be an article featuring a FT plan.

I see the advantages to fastrack. I just hope there will be enough to go around. What happens if we all place orders and only get some and another long wait with a partially finished pike? If fastrack had the same offerings as it's regular line at least you could use the old stuff till then. Lionel, and it's dealers, must do a better job stocking fastrack items so we can get them locally today! Not place an order and wait a half a year.

There's been several in recent memory. "Logging Lines Central" (Nov. 05) comes immediately to mind. If you want the "mother load" get a copy of RR-Track w/fastrack library, and the Fastrack examples. That'll keep you busy for a while.

Most any super "O" design can be adapted to fastrack with a little effort.

Good idea! I have taken a liking for Fastrack. I am going to use it for a more modern around-the-walls shelf layout above my 027 Postwar layout.

No CTT Fastrack plans?

I really enjoy the track plans published in CTT. My only complaint is that they're mostly done with an Atlas lean. Could we see some Fastrack versions done such as you did with the "Layout in a week" in different scales? I know that Lionel doesn't offer the amount of track product that Atlas has and this limits how the plans could be done. Maybe a "for Fastrack, Real Track, etc versions, visit CTT online".

Keep those great small layouts coming!
