Did anyone order one of these and get it yet? I was wondering how it looked and sounded.

Tom,

I was talking to Charlie Ro today, and he says the PS-4 hasn't shipped yet. I figure if anyone knows he would.
I do have one on order, and can't wait to get it. The Southern had some beautiful engines. Will be curious to see how it compares to my 10 year old Southern pacific type (18044?).

When I get it and have run it through it's paces I'll send along my thoughts on it.

My Dealer reports the same info as Tim and Charles Ro..

This Lionel Ps-4 will be #1403. The previous Lionel Ps-4 decorated for the Crescent Ltd was #1395 . Both are highly detailed.
My two Premier MTH Ps-4s are #1396 and #1401, are properly decorated ,and are favorites from the early 1990s. [ Proto 1.0s converted to Command].

My early Williams brass Ps-4 [1988] was also numbered #1401. It was not heavily detailed and its colors are off shade somewhat. I wore out two sets of traction tires running it with early K-Line Southern passenger cars.

I am also looking forward to getting this engine in. I hope it is as nice as it is made out to be. The passenger cars that go with it come out in June if they are on time.

I myself am waiting for mine to come in also. But I am very curious as to how the whisle sounds like. If any body knows, does it sound average or deep throat or what.

By the way, I just joined today (the28th), and I feel like I am around fine people here!
All I can say is I love Lionel trains! I have a 62" X 124" layout.
