Lionels still appeal to everyone.........even goths.

I found this out when my friend's (ex-girlfriend) wanted to meet me. We talked for a while and he asked what I did in my spare time. I told him that I had better luck getting people like him to understand if I showed him.

I brought him over to my house and throw my Lionel SF Fast Frieght set onto the tracks and "fired her up". After 2-3 loops around the track with the train sounds going and smoke unit on, he wanted to run the train.

I gave him a quick tutorial and now he is hooked. We were discussing how we could work out a trackage rights agreement (he buys his own models, but I let him run them and store them in my train room).

Well yeah... I have everything Joy Division and Sisters of Mercy ever released in the United States, plus some imports. But I have to admit I spend a lot more on trains now than I do on records...

He really loved running my Lionel 2-8-4 Bershire. They loved the train sounds.

He bought one for himself. He also bought some postwar trains that I will help him fix.

It isn't like we would want there to be one anyway.
