Lionel FasTrack Remote Switches...work with DCS?
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, March 13, 2006 4:26 PM
In my continuing research in trackage, I watched the video last night that came with the Railware software on the DCS intro.....in that half hour video I learned alot and enough to the point where I am sold on getting the DCS system.

Now my question, those of you out there that have the FT remote switches, are they compatible with DCS? I know they can be used with the TMCC system, but I was just curious if they could also be used with the DCS system. Operating the switches remotely with the DCS remote would be quite awesome. Im thinking this week on whether to place the order on the DCS system this week (I know I would need the AIU unit for operating the accessories and such, which I will do later).

Thanks for the help! [:)]

Chris they work just fine, I wired the swithces using a seperate power source and you should probably do the same. I wired them from the switches lever to the AIU, it saved tons of wire since the AIU is right under my control panel. I can trow a switch with the DCS remote or the lever remote. The fun part is recording an operating session and then playing it back with all the switches and accessories included.

FastTrack remote switches have a socket for a TMCC upgrade. This hasn't been announced yet so it isnt clear how this is going to work. The switches can be controlled by an AIU or a TMCC SC-2 or ASC.
