SWARM (South West Alabama Railroad Modelers) will hold its 14th annual train show during the Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival, Saturday and Sunday, March 18 – 19. The show will be at the Fairhope Kindergarten-First Grade Center at 100 S. Church Street, just a block south of the A&C Festival that will occupy most of the downtown streets. Fairhope is on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay on U. S. 98 south of the I-10 Daphne exit.

Operating layouts will include a large Garden Railway set up in the front school yard; in the cafeteria there will be two O-gauge layouts (SWARM and Bay Area Rail Roaders) plus Robert Fairbanks’ MTH circus train set up on 5 tables; two HO layouts (Mobile Society of Model Engineers and Pensacola Model Railroad Club – HO Division); and one N layout (Pensacola Model Railroad Club – N Division).

The main building and gymnasium will feature S&W Parts Supply from Metairie with 12 tables, Trains by Johnson from Pensacola with 12 tables (mostly HO and N), Web Simoneaux from New Orleans with 10 tables, Dan Sheppard from Jay, Florida with 5 tables, plus 5 - 7 other individuals selling O-gauge trains. There will also be dealers selling other size trains and railroad-related merchandise including videos. More than 70 tables have been reserved.

A special feature this year will be a drawing for children 6 – 14, with signed permission from a parent or grandparent, for two O-gauge starter sets – a Lionel Southern Diesel Freight Set and a K-Line Alaskan Huskie Set.

Hours are 9 – 5 Saturday and 10 – 4 Sunday. Admission is $2 for adults, but children with a paying adult are free. Police, firefighters and active duty military are also free.
