Received it Tuesday after I got home from work. Smells as if it was just painted and needs to dry. Haven't run her yet, but she sure is beautiful!

Can't wait for mine! Though I've committed to keep it unrun until my birthday in May!

Please pardon my ignorance, but what Williams Platinum Club GG-1?

I have been a club member for 2 years and do not remember a special offer for GG-1's. I did miss a few months last year due to illness, but thought I had caught up on things. Obviously, I haven't.

Got mine today in Virginia. Very nice as always from Williams. Big incentive to get layout done so I can run it. Ordered from Williams end of Nov., told 3 week delivery ... it was worth the wait for the price. For Richard A. ... this was advertised by Williams in either Classic Toy Trains or Ogauger for $149.00 for platinum club members. After I ordered I think I saw Marty at Ma & Pa Junction was taking orders for $139.00. If you are interested in one you might want to check with Marty @ Ma & Pa.. great guy to deal with. I paid the 149 but still a great deal for a classic. Big thanks to Williams for making the old Lionel classics affordable to all of us.

Still no GG1[:(]
I waited tonight with baited breath, and it did not happen. Perhaps tomorrow. I look forward to getting her on the tracks.

watinva,

Thanks for the information. Yes, I did miss the ad in both magazines. I have ordered from Marty before and will contact him, but I don't imagine such a deal will still be available. Next time.......

Yes, it's the same engine. You get the train for $149 and have to join the Platinum club for $25 - and you get a 'free' caboose or boxcar with that - then there's shipping: $184ish all told. I hope it comes today - even though I'm saving it for my birthday, I'll break it out.

Darianj, do you have the Triplex in your signature? It looks wonderful and wondered how it ran. I enjoyed the CTT review

Got my GG-1 and REA reefer just a few moments ago. I decided to make it something to look forward to - - - and pack them both away until my birthday in May.

D - I wish I had the curves to run that model - it would be fun to see the side-action on both the engine and tender - congratulations.

Well that brown angel delivered the GG1 tonight. I already unpacked her, oiled as directed and ran her for a few minutes. It is nice!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so heavy that I will have to make sure the road bed and benchwork are sturdy enough. I also enjoyed the bell and horn features. I will have to place the pantographs but will wait till we return from Savannah.

I'm Pennsylvania Green with envy!!! I would love a GG1 but I've been trying to be more careful with my money. Williams makes some gorgeous stuff. Enjoy, everyone!
