Using a Lionel Coal Ramp to load a boat directly
Posted by rlbarnard on Friday, March 3, 2006 8:46 AM
Hi,

Do any of you use your Lionel 456 Operating Coal Ramp to load a boat or a barge directly? If you do, would use please share some photos of your ramp setup with us on the forum. I'm thinking about trying it on my small, humble layout.

Thanks,

Sounds cool to me. A barge would be a simple thimg to model. I always wanted to do a scene with a port or harbor. Trains and boats seem to compliment each other well. Guess it's the whole shipping aspect I like. Goods going from place to place.

***, if you ever get down to Baltimore take a run down to the Brooklyn area where the CSX coal pier is. I haven't been in the area for about 12 years now so memories are vague. They load coal onto ships and I don't recall how they unload the cars but from the road it is a massive structure.
