Running comand and conventional together
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, March 2, 2006 4:12 PM
I am thinking of adding some cantenary onto my layout and I was wondering if anyone used the overhead as a separate loop to run conventional engines like a GG1 for instance. I am planning to buy a DCS system in the near future and I am also going to need a good electric engine that will negotiate 031 track. I would appreciate any of your imput. Felix[:)][:)]

I've always thought the GG-1's looked alittle awkward on O31 curves. With all those wheels the body really hangs over on curves. The EP-5 is a cool engine with a more traditional front and rear trucks. The other cool one is the Rectifier. Kind of a love it or hate it looking engine. Lionel had some good paint schemes with these, NH, Virginian.Electrics with there pantographs definately have a look about them.
