This lamp may be the same as Chicago Miniature Lamp's CM8646 ("Special Midged Flange Base", T-1 1/4, 14 V, 80 mA, .5 MSCP, 1000 hr). They also list two 28-volt versions (CM737, 50 mA, .3 MSCP, 16000 hr and CM8632, 40 mA, .32 MSCP, 1000 hr), which might be useful for those with TMCC or who just want a much dimmer simulated 19th-century oil lamp that lasts approximately forever.

Marx,
In the future, go to the Lionel web site and get to customer service. you can follow the links to the parts section and they should have a full diagram of your engine. This should help should you have any questions or problems.
Good Luck,
Dennis
