mickey, I've the same cleaner as you and it does pick up a lot of dirt. I usually use Googone till I think I have all the dirt up and then finish up with isopropanol to remove the Googone.

The best way I've found to clean the rollers is putting them in a small net bag I found and throw them in the washing machine when the wife is doing a load of rags.

I only had one incident years ago, on another layout, where I had the Lionel no-derail switchs. At the time I was pushing the cleaning car and the engine sparked as it went across the switch making the de-rail circuit and ignited the Googone. Luckily it was within reach and I was able to blow it out and didn't need to grab the extinguisher.

My layout is about the same size. I clean off the easy to get areas first and then hook mine up and let it run. My cleaner is brass and uses the mini paint rollers. How about yours?

Deluxe Track Cleaning Car

I just received the Deluxe Track Cleaning Car from North East Trains as advertised in CTT March 2006 (top of page 28). I was surprised when I found the item delivered yesterday (Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006) for I only placed the order Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006 and paid the standard shipping fee ($7.95). I tried it out on my 300+ ft. fastrack layout and it did the trick. Now I don't need to use a stepladder and disturb the scenery trying to clean the track. I would recommend this item and company to anyone looking for a good product and speedy delivery.
