Well, this has been up for almost two days, so I figure that's long enough. Anyway, here are the answers, for those who didn't get them all.

Fred [as in flashing rear end device] woke up early one morning. He went to the kitchen and plugged in the coffee pot [OK, I doubted if anyone would get this one. These locomotives with built-on passenger cars were used on the Australian outback years ago and nicknamed "coffee pots".]. He felt really good as the daylight streamed in his kitchen's bay window. He turned on the radio. A song by ABBA [note the configuration of the F units] was playing. He had to mow [as in maitenance of way] the lawn, but other than that, his day was free. The weather soon came on and the weatherman said that the mercury would be rising to very nice temperatures that day. Great!

His thoughts of what he would do with his free time soon changed, however, when his wife, Cindy, came into the room. A diamond had fallen out of her best pair of earrings. She was going to wear them to a party they were invited to the next night and was quite busy until then, so would he take them to a jewelers to be repaired? Being the nice husband that he was, Fred was more than happy to. They were special earrings, too, as Fred had bought them for Cindy on their honeymoon in Niagara Falls.

Tim decided to take the earrings in that morning. After finishing breakfast, he went down the hallway to the bedroom where Cindy had left the earrings for him. After safely depositing the earring in a little plastic bag, he went out to his van [I wondered if the Americans would get this one. In Canada, cabooses were commonly refered to as "vans" by railroaders.]. Before long, he was rocketing down the freeway. He had been to this jeweler before, so he had a general idea of where he was going. However, the van started slowing down and was soon quite sluggish. It eventually stopped. "What on earth could be the matter?", he thought. He soon realized. He was out of gas. The tank was completely empty!

What was Fred to do but hold out his thumb and hope that some kind soul would stop for him? In reality, he doubted that a single person would even think of stopping for him. He was starting to get worried. Fred had anxiety problems and had forgotten to take the B6 supplement the doctor had prescribed for his stress that day. [Vitamin B6 actually is recommended for stress.] He didn't have to worry long, though, as a jeep [As in geep. Perhaps I'm cheating here, but the pronunciation is the same.] soon pulled up. The driver of the jeep was a very friendly fellow, but a redneck through and through. He was also a very large man who easily dwarfed Fred. Fred explained his situation and the driver said he would take him to get some fuel.

As they started to go, the driver added, "I hope you don't mind the critters in the back." The "critters" turned out to be some cages containing rats. "I'm delivering them to the aquarium," the driver explained. They feed them to the sharks there."

As they were driving along, the driver asked, "Mind if I smoke?" Not waiting for an answer, he proceeded to pull what looked like a cigarette from his pocket. However, Fred soon realized that it wasn't a cigarette at all. It was reefer!!!!!!!!

While attempting to light it, the driver lost control of the vehicle and landed in the ditch, the rats flying everywhere. Before long, the two were at a police station facing drug possession charges, among other things. Thankfully, Fred was able to clear things up and go safely on his way.

By the time Fred drove his van back in his driveway, it was quite late.

"Did you get my earring fixed?" asked Cindy as he walked in the door.

"The jeweler was closed, I'll take it in tomorrow," replied Fred.

That was easy. I figured it out in 5 minutes. All you have to do is know your railroad names, terms, and nicknames.

That's great! My roommate in college always refered to the refridgerator as the "reefer". Sad to say it took me awhile to figure out the Armour car.

I'm sure you've all seen those secret coded messages in kids' activity books where there are pictures representing words. For example, for the word "I", there will be a picture of an eyeball. You get the idea. Anyway, I have come up with something simmilar, just for fun. The following story has nothing to do with trains, but you have to use your knowledge of trains to figure it out by identifying the words the pictures represent. Most of these will probably be quite easy, but I've put a couple of tricky ones in here. How many of you guys can figure out all of them? Don't give away the answers, though. I'll post the answers at a later time. Anyway, here it is. Enjoy!
