What I am thinking is having one or two horses pulling 4 small scratch built hoppers on a two rail wooden track.

On2 1/2 or On3 would be best. I think that Bachman may be selling some On30 stuff. (runs on HO gauge but with wider tie spacing; and is O scale)

On2 would even be neater, but don't think there's too much out there for that.

Do let us know your progress! I think it's a really cool project

PETim - they wpould be larger - I was thinking O Ga track. Just picking the smallest wheel I had seen in tinplate.

You want better realism/size, go with HO.

So like PIGEYES says O gauge or HO?
I personally think it will look better in ho gauge?

I think you could consider using some old leading truck wheels from a junker modern era 4-4-2.

Would those be smaller or larger than HO freight trucks?..Tim

GIZ,
I am thinking of putting in a diarama of mules coming out of a mine shaft hauling some small wooden mine cars. What size trucks and wheels would look appropriate? O gauge or HO?
