I have the GM&O version and enjoy it very much. It is very much like the post war Lionel version but with improved drive train.

Here's a shot I took on the Christmas layout a while back . . .

I don't recall the back cover of that issue. If you are talking about the semi-scale Alcos and the 12" cars, I have the Golden Anniversary set (UP yellow) with extra cars and I will post images if I can figure out how - I haven't done so here before.

I know this set is basically a copy of postwar lionel - but does anyone have a picture of this set? Williams advertised a variety of roadnames on the back cover of the december CTT issue.
