These were made by Korea Brass's most recent incarnation - in Korea. They also make trains for a number of importers.

I believe these engines are made in China by a manufacturing company that makes trains for other suppliers. It is my thought that getting these engines repaired and serviced will not be all that difficult in years to come.

At the price they are asking you could buy a second for spare parts and still be well under the list price. Just joking but it is a thought. I only ordered one K4.

We've reviewed the Berkshire and K4 and they are both quality pieces. If you're halfway interested in these babies, you'll regret not going for it.

I know that I bought the K-Line 2-8-2 from Trainworld on a blowout of $250 for the whistle-only version and haven't regretted it.

There has been a lot of response on the OGR forum about the Sun Models K4 blowout. If you want one I'd call in a hurry or they may be gone. I ordered a Postwar K4 and can't wait. They have started to ship so don't delay.

Hey guys,
I finally received my CTT today, and I have a question for you all.
A dealer is blowing out the Kline K4's for $350. Is that a good deal, and should I go for it? I have wanted one, and I think this could be my chance to get it. It has TMCC and all of the list of features.

TMCC, it is a great deal

BUT

since K-Line seems to be in one heck of a mess right now, you might be purchasing an engine with no warranty, no service, no parts, etc., etc. etc. We just don't know what tomorrow will bring for K-Line. Did you see the latest catalog from K-Line? Did you know they cancelled their February Fair Days? Maybe somebody has a real clear crystal ball to tell us the future of K-Line, but I don't.

I love my K-Line Mikado and the quality for the price is great, but someday it might be just sitting on the shelf with my Brownie Camera that used 127 film. [:(]

I like that Williams idea that Lee proposed. Good solid engines.

Sounds like a good buy if you can afford it, however K-Line is either going to be sold to new people or may go out of business.
My personal thoughts on this is to check out what Williams electric trains has for sale right now.

In the current CTT, there is an ad for sun models. They have a K-line K-4 for $350.
Will this last. Am earning half, and then will order. I really want this engine.
Call me crazy, but I LIKE Zito yellow. RAILFANESPEE4449
