Phil Klopp Layout And CTT
Posted by casconi on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 11:35 PM
I am trying to track down an issue of CTT that included Phil Klopp's layout. I saw in a 1988 issue, but CTT did an update when he added TMCC. Does anyone know what issue? I also looking for his track plan/photos?
Thanks

I don't remember what issue it was.....but if you can not find the answer, I will ask him when I visit Hobby Hangout again.

I just had the pleasure of taking my wife and son over to see Phil's layout during the holidays. The layout covers the entire basement. He is currently running both TMCC and DCS. Most of the engines he ran that night were TMCC based engines.

This is a MUST SEE if you ever get the opportunity.

Chris, I think what you are looking for is January 1998, page 86. I used the magazine index at the top of the page, and typed in "Klopp", searching only CTT.

Hello Chris! I've got the 1988 CTT Issue with Phil's layout in it if you're interested. Just contact me at my e-mail. Take care.

Phil's layout and his trains were covered in two other issues, both more recent than the '88 issue. The conversion to TMCC is in the last of the three. I suspect looking through the index will be faster than waiting for me to run through my collection again.

Phil's layout(well, about 6 or more layouts ago!) was also featured in an early color article in 1973 in the TCAQ. He was really ahead of his time even then in his approach to hi-rail layout building!

Great! thanks! I have the 1988 issue - its the later ones I'm looking for. I think Elliot has helped!
