TMCC Sound Problem & Fix
Posted by twaldie on Sunday, February 5, 2006 11:57 AM
Just wanted to share a little info I learned today about TMCC that might come in handy to others someday......
I recently purchased a Milwaukee Road GP-9 with railsounds 2.5 that didn't quite act right. After programming in an engine #, I could control direction and speed and there was the diesel engine sound, but there were no whistle and bell sounds. What fun is an engine that doesn't make the right noises?[:(]
I browsed Lionels web site, and under the FAQs in the customer service section, there was a section concerning "Instructions to restore TMCC functions". Since it lists sounds, I thought it couldn't hurt to try it out. My son and I followed the instructions through once, and it didn't seem to make any difference[xx(].
But.... we decided to try again and do the keystrokes on the CAB-1 a little faster, since we had gone slowly the first time while reading the instructions.
The second time worked like a charm! The engine makes all of it's noises now.
I guess persistence (and practice) pays off.[:)]
Anyway, have a great day!

Happy in Virginia.
