Not sure but I will try, I think that "PS" stands for some type of hopper car used in grain or cement travel by rail. Or some model railroad companies have come up with this one. PCS-1 & 2 are digital remote control made by MTH.

The PS refers to the Pullman Standard standardized line of rolling stock manufactured starting in the 1940's by the Pullman Standard corporation.

Pardon my (continuing) ignorance, but what does the designation "PS" mean in regards to rolling stock and engines? I don't mean "protosounds", but PS1, PS2,
PS4, etc. It seems to be associated most with scale sized equipment, near as I can tell...
