We went yesterday. Very crowded. Most interesting thing was the layouts and a live steam exhibit. A club had a 4-8-4 live steamer there. Darn thing had to be 10-11 feet long with tender. I was told it weighed 1500 lbs and was coal fired which surprised me.

Hey, I went this afternoon. Pretty cool. My first ever trainshow and it was pretty big. It was also very crowded. My kids pooped out after the first 1 1/2 hours so we only stuck around for 2 hours or so. There were some good deals on new lionel stuff (that's all was familiar enough with to comment about) like the NY or Penn starter sets for $110 or expansion packs for $65. If I only had some $$$. I enjoyed bringing the family, but it is a tough atmousphere for short children; even the train displays are too tall for them to enjoy. Oh well. Go, you'll probably have a blast.

(I expecilly liked watching the N and Z layouts. You can do so much with such a little space!)

Anyone planning on heading out to springfield this weekend for the big E show? I went last year for the first time and had a blast, a lot of deals and a ton a layouts to look at[:D]. I'll be heading out tomorrow early sometime to beat the crowds. I noticed though that most of the O gauge layouts are 2 rail and barely any 3 rail. Thats ok though, I just imagine theres a 3rd rail in the center[;)]
