Need your opinion on log loaders
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, January 27, 2006 1:14 PM
I am thinking about buying a log loader, I've looked at the Lionel 6-24115 loader (thats the one where the log goes up the side and over) and the American Flyer loader with the guy in the crane. Any thoughts on these two loaders.....thx.....tom.

I have the Lionel one and it works good on the layout.
No problems.
Was thinking of the American flyer one too, just don't know where to put it?

I like both. What I like best about the Lionel one is it is served by two tracks, so it makes for a bit more action with two trains on indeendent loops.

The Lionel loader is on my list of things to get for sure. I hope to get one soon. Glad to hear that you guys like 'em.

I have an MTH sawmill thats a real kick to operate. A log gets sawed into boards and then loaded onto a flat car or gondola. Best operating accessory I have.

I have the Lionel log loader as well, and it's a big accessory, takes up lots of real estate, operates great. It's my kids favorite.

I picked up the Lionel reissue of the Flyer log loader about a month ago and I like it. It looks good and works well. I put it between parallel tracks so I can load cars with it on one side, and once I get a log dump car, I'll be able to re-load it from the other.

Now that I have that, I'd like to get a Flyer coal loader.... It never ends, does it?
