Tom - That Engine you called a GG-1 is a Pennsylvania EP-5 Little Joe from 1975. GG-1s should be called Sloppy Joes![;)][:)] I see that the Chief's Grits Boxcar did not make it to the meeting.[:)].

We had another outstand OTTS meeting last night. Of course we had several of our CTT forum members attending. John (csxt30) and his son Rusty, Don and his wife (boneheadbaseboy), Frank (Youngstown on OGR and Eirefireman on CTT), Ted (tamicone), 3 member form ‘The Western Reverse Model Railroad Museum’, 6 other local members who don’t really got on the internet much. I am sure there may have been other that I just missed. It was also great see two youngsters here, the youngest by about 10 and he was running my trains in both DCS and conventional mode.

Left to Right: Don (bonehead), Ted (tamicone) and Norm.

Left to Right: Greg, Frank, Al’s son, and Ed.

Jack brought over his Plymouth switcher

John (csxt30) brought over his new Atlas caboose

Charlie brought over his GG1

Next meeting will be Friday February 10, 2006 at ‘The Western Reserve Model Railroad Museum’ www.wrmrrm.shutterfly.com

JIm,

This is a Lionel Coaling tower. It was a kit made back in 1999.

TOM,
Wish I could make it to OHIO?
I just got my MTH Virginian Triplex.
Looks and runs great used it on conventional and with the DCS, no problems.
The only thing wrong with it is that on the right side of the tender they forgot the main rod and the slide for the piston. I contacted MTH by email and waiting for a responce.
It is a cool runner as well as looker. Would love to run it on your layout.

Tom, What's the premise of that dark gray and red structure in the lower photo? Why is it raised for trains to pass under? It's a Lionel Coaling station, right? Would the prototype have dropped coal into hoppers?

I'm asking because I like the structure. There's one for sale near me, but wonder if it could be converted to another industry, like lumber, ice, sand, etc.
