i was thinking about picking up one of the Beep disels from ready made toys. i figure the price is right and it is just the right size foir my small yard. i was wondering if anyone else has picked one up and what they thought. also how do they handle on lionel 031 and 072 switches?

Mine works just fine through MTH realtrax switches. Doesn't have a lot of pulling power but it will handle a few cars. There is an aftermarket kit available to add TMCC which I am thinking of installing.

They should do just fine on O31 curves and O72 switches. The early releases of the Beep had a few problems with O27 curves due to limited coupler swing. This has been corrected on current runs. I have one of the earlier runs and was able to correct the coupler swing problem with some judicious filing.

Look up electricrr.com. He makes a beep tmcc compatible set up . It's basically a plug in install. It's about 50 bucks I've got 4 or five of them with tmcc.
