Buckeye Riveter...I'm also from South Bend, and your memory is still intact, the train barn does sit on the south side of the lake.....

I'm very impressed at the detail of the layout. I really liked the truck too.

I visited the train barn 20 plus years ago, when I lived in South Bend, IN and it was something to see even then!!![:D][:D][:D]

I always wondered why no one on the forum ever mentioned it. The barn sits at the south end of a lake, if my memory serves me correctly.

I am always looking for new train hobby shops/stores that carry a good selection of O gauge, boy did I find a gem. In Portage, Michigan (just south of Kalamazoo), is a place called The Train Barn, it's a good O scale train store, but you should see the layout they have on the second floor of this barn. It is 40 years old and still growing, if you are ever in the area, you gotta check this place out. You can also see pictures of the layout from their website
