If you do it right, you power only the switch machine, not the track, which is powered with the rest of your track. So there is no speed-up.

If you power 072 switches from transformer power, will this accelerate the train across the switches if the voltage is turned up on the power to this switch? It seems to take a fair amount of voltage to make these switches work completely. Any ideas on this? Thanks, Jake
