hi tim, thanks for answering. i realy don't know right now. i work 3rd shift and don't get much time to do whatever. i got an email from mantua
and they confirmed it's probably pre 1940? i guess the question i have is can i treat these as i would a new one or do i have to be more careful
with it? not because of it's value but because of it's playability. ha!!! is working on them difficult, and if the gears or motor go out, can they be replaced with the same parts or will i have to use today's stuff? i used to work with models and am now on my (our) 4th layout. ain't this just the greatest? we can build it then replace it with something else!! sorry, back to my subject. i want to start tweaking my stuff and i wonder if i should start here or do a few newer models first until i get used to doing it again.
i sure don't want to mess it up( yet). ***

i have a mantua mogal(2-6-0) with cloth wires , 3 other cars and a caboose. all are link pin. the caboose is a 1947 because as luck would have
it, i have the papers for it and yes they are all metal. i really haven't taken the time to see if the engine is brass or not, but it's heavy and yes now it's running.people i've talked to seem to think that the people at mantua are all to young to help out, so i'm asking the master
minds here. thanks for your help in this matter.
