Need HELP! Sound station diner
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, January 12, 2006 4:33 PM
Hello all,

Need help! I purchased a Lionel sound stations diner, and for some reason the only thing I can get the car to do is turn the lights off and on by the remote. I tried to reprogram it but still won't work. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not. Any suggestions?[?]

Thanks for the help,
Christian

Is the Run/Program switch in the run position? Did you adjust the volume control on the bottom of the car ? Some of the effects only work when the car is in motion or just stopped. Did you try addressing the car directly from the CAB-1 (default is ENG -1)?

That's interesting. I have one and it works fine, EXCEPT for the lights on/off. I'll keep waiting for new posts with suggestions as well.

There is a master control switch for the lights on the bottom of the car. I believe if you set them off, this will over ride TMCC control.

Did you try doing a reset on the car? The feature set code is 6. Procedure for doing a reset is in the manual. Look for "Reprogramming Command reverse unit circuit boards to restore features"

Due to the inevitable derailments, static, and the nature of electricity, it is possible
that your Command reverse unit could someday lose its setup program. The symptom
of this condition is unresponsiveness in command mode. This can be easily remedied
by “reprogramming” your Command reverse unit using the following steps.

STEP 1: Move switch on StationSounds Car from RUN to PGM. Refer to the diagram on page 11 for switch location.
STEP 2: Turn on Command Base.
STEP 3: Place locomotive on track, then turn on power to track.
STEP 4: Press “ENG” then input StationSounds Car’s ID#. Press “SET”
STEP 5: Press “ENG”, then the ID#,
“AUX1”, then press 6 for your StationSounds Car.
STEP 6: Turn off power to track, wait ten seconds.
STEP 7: Remove StationSounds Car from track, move switch from PGM to RUN.
STEP 8: Place StationSounds Car back on track, turn power on to track.
STEP 9: Press “ENG” and ID#, then operate as normal.

If the car is still unresponsive, you might have a failed amplifier board or a dead speaker. I'd try calling tech support unless you feel comfortable going inside and checking the components out yourself.

Chuckn,
I did the reprogram to no avail. However, I will try it again. Maybe I did something wrong[?]. I'll let you know how I make out.

Thanks for the help,
Christian
