Original rolling stock for the Lionel 226E & 2226W "PLEASE HELP!!!!!"

PLEASE HELP ME!!!
I recently acquired a pre-war Lionel 226E Engine and 2226W Tender and I cannot figure out what cars went with the set. I have seen a picture of this train pulling passenger cars but, but I do not know what cars they were. I assume there is a designation or name for these cars? I have seen the 800, 2800 & 3800 pre-war series cars, but I do not know if any of them are the correct ones. I have been told since the 226E was one of the larger engines at that time the cars that went with this engine were larger (longer)
The coupler on the back of the 2226W tender is enclosed in a black plastic cover, it is not completely open, is this considered automatic or magnetic.
I would like to find some rolling stock to display with the engine & tender. If you have any info or rolling for sale please contact me!! Thanks

Hello Crash! The 226E & Tender came with the 2615 Baggage,2613 Pullman,& 2614 Observation Passenger Cars. They are usually two-tone green in color with cream windows and Automatic Box Couplers. Maybe one of the auction houses like Stout,Maurer, or Tiger can help you locate these cars and tell them How high or low the couplers are on your Tender as there can be a seven-eighths differance in height between the tender coupler and the couplers on the cars.and on some PassengerCars the difference can be One& One Quarter differance. The reason for this was to accomodate the various changes Lionel made in their Automatic Couplers between 1938-41. Good Luck & take care.

Thanks Keith! Can you recommend anywhere that I might see a picture of the cars?

Thanks

Hello Crash! Go to Stout Auctions on their website & see if they have any pictures of the passenger cars on hand. They usually have things like that on consignment anyway and see if the other Auction Houses have photo's as well. Also Check ebay to see pictures. Maybe someone at CTT has access to photo's as well. Keep trying& Take Care.
