Wet sand in diesel sand boxes.
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 9, 2006 11:37 AM
Greetings fellow railroaders: I am a disel mechanic for a class 1 railroad and last night (1-8-06) I was assignend the task of removing wet sand from a sand box from an SD-60it was a slow laborious task.

My questions are:

1. How does this sand get wet?

2. is there a way to remove this as an operational problem.

Any suggestions or feedback would be welcome.

Respectfully:

You would have better luck on the Trains-Magazine forum. This one is for toy trains.
