This is one of my 2332 GG-1's. You can also see my 2343 B unit and a 2534 Silver Bluff in the background. That unpainted GG-1 is one that I've been gathering parts for here and there to construct. Just need a couple more pieces and I'll be able to start assembly.

My 671that I inheirited when I was 10 years old. It sat in pieces for 28 years in a box until my pop-in-law and I rebuilt her last year. She ran for the first time in 33 years.

My 263e that is a restore. It is a replacement to the one my brother had but lost years and years ago. I also have finally acquired the 800 series frieght cars we had with it too.

My other GG-1 and a better shot of the 2343 A.

I am waiting for my newest addition: A 258 pre war loco that I paid too much for on EBAY. Oh well, it's only money![:D]

Sorry bout that fellas. I posted them through my yahoo photo album. They were up earlier, but for some reason aren't showing now. I'll have to try again.

I posted these thru Yahoo photos. They seem to show up if I'm logged on to yahoo, but I think the urls may be dynamic. If you can't see these pix, then I'll have to transfer them to shutterfly. Has anyone else had this problem with Yahoo photos?

I'm experimenting. I've put some pix on shutterfly and posted here. We'll see if the yahoo pix disappear again.

Actually I got them at home depot in the trim section. It's 3 1/4 inch fluted casement trim. When I was a the store one day for something else, I noticed the trim. I brought an old truck off a broken box car and checked it out. The fit is almost perfect. I decided on the grooved wood over rails, becuse I was worried about corrosion of disimilar metals if the trains sat on the rails for extended periods of time. Don't know if that woud happen, but I was paranoid.

Nice pictures! But if you have locomotives with magnetraction, they are better off on metal tracks. The magnetic field on the trucks need the rails to close. I'm not sure if it really is that way, but it is said that the magnets stay in better shape that way.

Thanks all for the kind words. Daan: I didn't know that about the magnatraction, but it does make sense what you are saying. I'll look into that.

Thanks Keith. They are in played with condition, but they are all runners and I do play with them!! My young ones here at home are beginning to get interested as well. I have an old Marx tinplate set that we set up around the tree. The kids get to play with that one, and they love it.

The 263e is an older restore (not by me). When I was a kid my brother and I inheirited some trains from my grandfather. My bro got the 263e and several 800 series freight cars. I got the GG-1 and the 671(because it was broken).

Well, to make a short story long, the 263e set disappeared over time. So, I've spent quite a few years trying to find a replacement. I finally found this loco last year on EBAY. Whoever restored it did a nice job. I don't know how much is original or repro parts, but that's ok. It is worth more to me in terms of nostalgia and and fun, than it's potential collectible value.

I have to say, that eventhough it can get a little pricy there, EBAY has made it possible to find things that I just could never get a hold of locally. I've been able to piece together the frieght cars I remember we had as well.

Anyway, thanks for looking. I'll probaby post a couple more pix when I finally get my permanent layout up and running in the next several months.

Dwayne.
