The track elements are close to scale(i.e. size of ties/rails) but the tie spacing and tie plate detail are way off. Track system can not be mixed with any other manufacturers track and the selection of turnouts is not as complete as Atlas or Ross/Curtis.

Aside for holding it and examining it a bit, I don't have any actual on-layout experience with the stuff. I was not all that impressed, and apparently neither was the marketplace in general. The system has apparently not sold well, and MTH does not appear to have invested much in expanding on what was initially offered.

I settled for Atlas, and will continue with their line even though they have announced a 10% price increase.

I'm interested in any experience with MTH scaletrax. I am starting a new layout and would like any advice on the track before I make a large purchase. Thanks.
