I believe if you look real close you will see that the window inserts are actually part of the roof. at the ends of the cars about the 3rd or 4th window. The windows have a tab, you can then gently push in the tabs and that will release the roof. I will check more later, am at work and will be able to provide better information when I can get home. If someone hasn't already provided better information.

Hello Mgmlodi! Use a Flat Blade Screwdriver at all four corners of the Roofs.Just insert the screwdriver at the point where the roof and carbody meet.Take your time and be careful not to be too forceful and the roofs should come off.

How do you get the roof off theLionel#9538 pullman car to get at the light bulbs? I can't get it off without cutting up the car or roof. What am I doing wrong?
