Well happy holidays to all and it is happy because you get great bargins right now on toys that can be used on your layout!!!....Die cast cars of 1:43 scale are real cheap under $3.00 at toys-r-us and kay-be toys . Also construction sets with trucks and workers are normally found under $9 dollars. Its amazing what you can pick up at the toy department that fit O scale and right now at bargan after holiday prices!!!. Dont have to buy stuff from hobby shops for scenery stuff and spend alot of money, try the toy department and save your money for the good things like a BigBoy engine!!![:p]

I'm still hiding in my basement playing with trains. Hope there's still some deals when I crawl out in the spring.

I don't know about deals but radon aside - in the northern climes, as Paul said, t's a great time to spent time in the basement...no distractions of lawn-cutting ladies in bikinis.

I'm a fall sort of guy myself. The colors, the moderate temperatures, football season, and anticipation of the holiday season ahead. I'm pretty much able to find train bargains year round, so I don't really relate it to a particular season. Nevertheless, the post-Christmas period is certainly a great time of year for picking up some real bargains in just about everything.

Doug - That could be a good business, Lawn-cutting ladies in bikinis.

The landscapers that swarm my neighborhood all summer are nothing to look at. I think women would jump for a job like that. Work on their tans and get paid for it. I'll have to take this up with one of the landscaping companies around here.
