Does anyone know the real story about K-Line's problems ? I've heard at least fifteen different versions.

I moderate the K-Line Yahoo Group, and I am supposed to get a statement from the company right after the New Year. As soon as I get it I'll post it on the site. Someone sent me a statement about K-Line that they said is on their website. I did post this statement on the group site, but when I checked the K-Line site myself I could not find it.

So far the K-Line website looks and acts like it always has.

Clearly something is going on, but there are so many stories out there who knows what the real deal is.

In the interim I am enjoying my K-Line Trains as always. My "under the tree" set this year is the first repro that K-Line did of the Girls Train from 1991, and I finally figured out how to get decent smoke production out of these early K-Line /Marx Mold Steamers.

Lawsuits.
Legal settlements.
Press releases.
New settlements.
Bankruptcy.
Chapter 11.
Trying to find a buyer.
In a nutshell, there it is.

Go to K-Line website, click on "News and Events," then click on "News." Finally, click on 12/23/05 press release. I think that's about all we have to go on so far.

Now that's what I would call a concise and accurate summation, Bob! :-)

And until something happens--perhaps in January--there's really not much more that can be said about the K-Line situation--at least nothing that wouldn't be almost certainly speculative in nature.

Hey, I've been wading through those legal documents and trust me, there's nothing close to "Perry Mason" excitement in them. [;)]

Unless you're into accounting, of course.

Maybe I should have tried to read them, nothing else helped me sleep.
