Yes, it is ironic. I got the cars I ordered from the dealer (at a good price) and am very satisfied with them. I think I'll wait on the engines though. I bought one of the Alleghenys from Western Depot (months ago) and am pleased with it. The only problem is it's a 1:58 scale.

I have an A-B-A Illinois Central E8 lashup that is acting up. I was going to send it back to K-line for a new circuit board, but since the Annuoncement, I don't know what to do. Any ideas?

It's been a while since I noted that I have encountered "zinc pest" in several K-Line products. Any cast-zinc items might be more of a problem for a do-it-yourself repair.

Wow,I musta found the doomsday patrol part of the forum. First :any retailer especially a "large" one discouraging a product sale based on wait till Feb. and see what happans issues is one that should be avoided.
Our toy train hobby has and will continue to flouri***hrough thick and thin,what is not needed is comments that appear based on cut my nose spite my face "large" dealers.

Kline service has been excellent; however, I made a decision not to send my Lt. Pacific back to them for repair after their announcement. I chose to have Engine House Hobbies replace my electronics with Proto2 because I did not want to take a chance on one of my favorite engines. If I were to make a decision on another Kline engine (I have purchased 9 in the past 2 years) I would include the cost of conversion to Proto 2 or TMCCII. Good luck. If the price is right buy it.

It's my understanding if its at the dealer, they can sell it., K-line can't ship it from their warehouse with it.

It's the differance of who is selling it, the dealer or K-line.

As an aside, I see where Western Depot has over 150 Alleghenys in stock with Cruise installed. Are they allowed to sell them with Cruise or did they have to remove it?

I bought some K-Line cars from the ware house sale brochure that had you order in stock items from the store and ware house items from K-Line. Several stores warned me not to order from the ware house and some refused to take my credit card info for fear of alienating a customer in case K-Line went under and didn't ship. I hope they make it.

Anything would only be speculation at this time. No one i really 100% sure that K-Line is going to exist in a month, much less a year.

I truly hope they will be around (over 50% of my collecton is K-Line), but if you are concerned then I wouldn't purchase at this time. It hasn't stopped me

My brother called one of the largest K-Line dealers today and was going to order the K-Line scale Mikado with TMCC to pull the Polar Express cars around the tree. When he asked about Warranty Repairs the dealer told him nobody really knew and he should wait until February before placing his order.

Has anyone ordered any K-Line equipment after the "Announcement", and can share what their dealer or LHS advised them about what happens if the item doesn't work as advertised? I would think any Authorized Repair Center would honor the 1 year Warranty, but now I'm not sure...
