Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 7:12 AM
Hi there, I asked this question awhile back maybe someone could help.I have a 238 shell im looking for a motor that would fit into it. Ive tried a few lionel steamers but they wont fit .Can any one help with a motor that will slip in under the shell.I really would like the engine number so i could pick one up on ebay and swap the shells.Im not looking to restore it just make it run with a 238 shell.[%-)][sigh]

Hello Richard! Give Warren's Model Trains a Try . He might have one from the Madison Hardware Auction of a few years ago. He does have a bunch of prewar motors in stock.Another one to try is George Tebolt. Both of these places have websites. So, see what they can find for you. Good Luck.
