I use Tortoise with a throw wire[spring wire ] reaching thru 1-5/16" of plywood+foam+cork right-of-way.
Tortoise[about $12] are DC stall motors and can be operated by AC with inexpensive Radio Shack diodes wired in the circuit . Mine operate from Cab 1 off of IC Control's(now Lionel) ASCs powered by a small 25 watt AC transformer. I don't have any, but I am sure the S-2s will do the same.

Initially I powered my Tortoise with old DC Powerpaks, controlled by toggles on a simple track and turnout schematic display board---I plan to return to that system eventually.

What undertable switch machines would work with Atlas O switches on a table 1 1\4" thick (plywood + homosote) using Lionel TMCC thru the SC-2 controller including 'routes'? Also, which wiring diagram would apply?

Thanks, John
