Great Island Trains Customer Service
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, December 22, 2005 4:59 PM
I emailed island trains yesterday about an item still being available. Guess what they called me on the phone to say they are no longer made.
WOW a phone call in this day and age.

Oh yeah it was Electro coupler upgrade

Bought my first set of Lionels from Island Trains 10 years ago. I wanted a train for under the tree for my newborn sons first Christmas. We've had a layout under the tree every year since. I've ordered several things from them over the years with good service.

I started ordering from Island about 15-16yrs ago. That was back in the days when you called them..no Internet. I had many sucessful orders from them in the past ordering the LTI stuff through the phone. Great prices and fast free shipping. Personally, the last few times I got a little frustrated with the Internet ordering but they have the best prices period and I order from them.

The ONE place that I do bash (and tell every train person) I can about is that Charles Ro Supply place in Mass. I actually received unprovoked threats and extreme foul language from them on my 1st order back in 1993. I was completely blown away by what happened to me and sill shocked to this DAY with that transaction. I never ordered from them again and never will order from them again. If some mentions Charles Ro..I tell them to call Island.

Hi
I only order twice from Ro and had no problems but they do give you the feeling of they are doing you a favor by selling trains.

It is not nice to denigrate an entire city because you are angry at one store.
