Mario,

This is not my area of expertise, but I have heard that soaking the cars in strong diswashing detergent will loosen the paint and not harm the metal or plastic bodies.

Is the Sydney you refer Sydney, Australia? Great place. I spent 2 years commuting to Sydney while Optus was installing the GSM network there in the early 90's.

Roy

Mario,

I made a mistake. It was not diswashing detergent but laundry detergent which has some lye in it.

Sorry I do not know about any kit locos. If you are interested in HO scale stuff, you might try over on the Model Railroader magazine forum and see if they can help.

Regards and enjoy your summer in Sydney!
Roy
