Kinda sorta new.

Hey everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself to the group, even though I've hung on the fringes for a few months. Greg Terhaar is the name. Been playing with trains for 30 of my nearly 34 years. Started with Lionel/Fundimentions era, than years in HO. Still have a couple custom Soo Line pieces around. Back to Postwar Lionel. Now I just bought MTH, V&T set. Grew up in central MN, which is why my first love will always be the Soo Line. I now live in Sparks/Reno, NV. 30 minutes from Virginia City, and I sell tombstones for a living. Yes... I've heard all the jokes... "People are dying to buy from you". [:D] Anyway... love the forum! You all seem like a great bunch of bloks. I'm building a little layout for the holidays based on the V&T, but will probably pack it up in 3 or 4 months. Any other MTH fans out there? I will never stop loving Lionel, but I SURE like the V&T set I got. Anyway... glad to be here. Good day. Greg

Welcome Greg. Ter Haar is a very familiair name, it sounds very "dutch" (country in europe where I happen to live). Do you have family over there?
Daan. I'm Dutch, but only by country...

My ancestors came from Epe, Germany, which is very close to the Dutch border. I claim both German and Dutch heritage! Greg

[#welcome] gterhaar !! Great trains you are modeling, and I just want to tell you to look for a guy named Spankybird on the forum here, and click on his webbsite. He has tons of MTH, & Lionel and a lot of the old Civil war era engines on his web page ! He may be along later ! You'll find him fast on the Coffee Pot, & don't forget Sunday Photo Fun !! [:)]
Thanks, John
