And the only promise I have made before email is getting a camera so I can put pics here. I am just gonna stop completely with this. And once again I am sorry for promising things, and they have not appeared yet. Did you ever think I am busy with school. I will not be able to do anything this weekend because I have to do 2 two projects and have a test on tuesday that the teacher just told us about. On average, I have 4 or 5 tests a week. What I said was wrong, and I take full credit on it. I meant it as a joke, and I am truly sorry if I had done something to someone with words, because that is not the type of person I am. I rarely say stuff like that and I should have thought before I wrote.

Hey you guys, leave the kid alone. You all come off like some pompous know it all big shots when in fact you're far from it. You were all kids at one time. Give him a break.

No, I wouldn't call it a flame war. Just dealing with someone who shows no email address, no pictures, just idle promises, may not be who they say they are, foul language , etc.

Young man, I wouldn't go there or to Ohio. You have already dug yourself a big hole in terms of credibility today. Obviously, the brain was not engaged when, in this case the computer keyboard was put into gear.

Why would the OTTS members invite you to a meeting after your outbursts? They are great guys, and they are also very respectful of each other. Your lack of mobility, albeit your passionate problem de jur, has not caused anyone to lose sleep or take pity on you.

Eighteen to get a license? My go***hats older than around here, driver's ed. and 16 earns a license. Well, look at it this way, think of all the money you are going to save up by the time you're 18. Laz does have a good idea though about hitting up the relatives......

Remember Colin, good manners and good taste are full time and will carry you far in life, not just when it's convienient.

THAT'S RIGHT, LOOK AROUND, I DON'T SEE ANYONE TALKING LIKE THAT HERE. THERE'S NO NEED FOR IT.

You need to grow up before you own a car. In more ways than one.

And Ohio is just fine without you.

I have a work permit from school, and then I could move to OHIO when I am older, and I am sorry about the language. I will not be able to drive till I am 18.

[#ditto]

Besides, what are you going to do Colin, Drive to Ohio [?]

First you need to trun 16 to get a drivers license, then you need insuracne. Maybe you should get a job to pay for all of this. Oh that you mean you would need a work permit from school. [:(]

Thanks, Keith. The boys (and my daughter) really do enjoy the layout, even if it's relatively small. Maybe as they get older, it will expand.

Enjoy the OTTS meeting tomorrow night!

Hello Jim! It's okay if you have Two ovals of track and a siding. That's a start and someday you may be able to build an even bigger layout and have more fun with it. Never feel bad about having a small layout. Maybe, when your Boys are older. They will most likely want a larger layout and even help you build one. Just some food for thought. ( Sorry Chief,No Grits)[:p][:)] Take Care.

I'd like to see a group formed up here in Mass that operates like the OTTS. There are several Mass guys I know of who frequent the OGR forum. Maybe a few here for all I know. However, I seriously doubt if my two ovals of track would hold anyone's interest for very long. Even if the outer one does have a short siding. I enjoy it, but I'm a "keep it simple" roundy round kinda guy.

Jim,

OTTS started out with just Keith (1688tropedo). Keith lives at the end of my street, walking distance. We meet here on the forum. Next Buckeye was up in town from Columbus, Ohio. He is about 120 miles away and only shows up when he is in town for business.

GregM lives in North Canton (about 55 miles) and has made several meeting. Greg’s drive is a little over an hour

John (csxt30) lives east of us about 45 miles by the PA border and also makes meetings.
Johns drive is about an hour.

Most of us live within 10 minutes of each other and makes it quite easy to get together.

NO Dues – NO business, just TRAINS

If one wishes to take a train over and run on someone’s layout, they can. We also run the trains of who is hosting the meeting.

We are just a bunch of guys and gals that like toy trains and get together and talk trains, Make plans to go to show together, etc.

Tom,

If you don't mind me asking, how does the OTTS work? Do you bring your trains to the host's layout, or do you only run the host's trains? Also, how far apart from each other do you guys live? Is anyone driving more than an hour to get to a meeting?

Norm has a wonderful layout!
