You don't indicate whether you will be running conventional or command mode but one thing that I do at the museum is to set the max speed to a level at which I feel confident the trains will stay on the track if I let a guest run them. [^]

For 13 years I have used 1/8" Plexiglas cut into 3-1/2" strips as a "fence" on my twin shelf, 5 track airborne railroad up at our N.C. mountain cottage. One shelf is 7'-6" high and the other 9'-0".

I bought a 1/8x4'x8' sheet of Plexiglas from Lowe's and had them cut it into the 3-1/2" x 8' strips on their glass cutter. The cutter is a horizontal wheel on a track [much akin to a pizza cutter in appearance] and does a neat job.

In '92 a sheet cost about $38 and they made all of the the many 8' long cuts free. But today I expect they will charge $.25 per cut.

The old photos of my shelf RR were on about page 13 or 14 of the OGR Forum Photo gallery and have now aged off . Anyway, most times the plexglas was removed to avoid glare in picture-taking.

I have a 14ft x 14ft room with my trains at about 10ft up in the air. Havent even had the chance to run them yet (no controller yet) and want to be safe before any come tumbling down. Was thinking about a post and chain look every foot , but wanted some other opinions. plexy? wood? metal? anybody have anything for me or pictures of what you have tried or done that you like? I would post a picture of my setup but havent figured out how to do that yet, if I even can.
