Best Kept Secret
Posted by ChiefEagles on Sunday, November 27, 2005 7:57 PM

Everyone has seen this add. Well, everyone knows how "rabid" I am over NS. Well, I ran to the catalogs and then on line. No where can I find a NS C30-7. NW in the catalog and on line but no NS. I guess it is the best kept secret. [;)][:D]

Now I have had on order for two years, an SD60 NS Railking from MTH. Last date of manufacture is now Dec 5. Been changed continously. New 2006 catalog has the same item but different item #. That one says March 06. That also may be the best kept secret. [:D]

Wow, Chiefie, having no luck. It is funny, how reliable some southern companies are, and how some are not.[:O][:O][:O][:D][;)]

You Snohio boys better be quite. All I have to do is think about building and do a little room cleaning and you get lots of snow. In fact, I am going to do more room cleaning today. Better watch out as I think Tom will be getting more snow this week. [:D]

W[:O]w, Chief is only talking about cutting portals in the wall and you see what happens in Buckeye land, can you imagine what will happen when he actually starts construction. [:D]

thought this thread was about Amtrak's new hi-speed rail plan to connect all U.S. cities,

or, that NS actually has lines running north to Yankeeland. :-)

Dave, NS does have tracks that run thru Cleveland (old NW lines). They run right next to the CSX lines by my house. [;)]
The truth about NS is...
They only have 2 engines and a mile of track.
They operate a siding on a southern GRITS factory.
How do you Yankees think I keep "tabs" you all and sneak in on the OTTS. NS gives me a secret ride right through the lines. NS is a Southern line. [}:)][:D][;)]

Yankees are only half-bad, they come to visit and then return home. DammYankees move down here and never leave.
They proceeed to tell us how to drive on snow then hit our infamous freezing rain and take a ride behind the wrecker.
Buckeye General T. Sherman was a [}:)]Yankee burning ties, bending rails around trees and frightening women and small children. He left, but he didn't leave much. Took our RRs 140 years to recover and takeover Yankee railroading. If General Sherman were still in his grave our NS would vibrate him when it passed---but he's in a warmer place[than Florida].

Chief, did you see the October copy of Trains magazine? I just was able to get it out of the library this week and read it on the train today - what an interesting lead article about NS. I thought of you.

I read it too, Doug. In the October issue. I couldn't believe
how many tons of GRITS, they haul daily. I wonder what
they do with it.
