Getting started
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, November 25, 2005 5:11 AM
I was wondering if anyone could suggest a book or two to help me get started in model railroads. It is something I would like to start doing with my son but the there are so many different things out there I dont know where to begin. Right now my son has toy trains that he enjoys but what he really likes is realistic trains. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[#welcome] to the forum. Sorry to start your question off with questions, but a little more information may help you get better answers.

How old is your son? The reason for asking is to give the best recommendation as to what size trains would be best.

How much space are you planning to devote to this project?

Do you have a budget in mind?
