Looking around at a few UP and Northen Pacific sites I see where there was the "Northern" locomotive with a 4-8-4 wheel arrangement. These were the last steamers purchased by the UP.. don't know if that helps or not...........

Pat,
Are you looking for an Oguage GP-9? Williams has a wide selection of GP-9's and at affordable prices, also the quality is above that of Lionel. Try williamstrains.com

What steam locomotive did the GP-9 replace in eastern Nebraska in the 1950's? I am attempting to include that steamer in my layout. I have the GP-9 and would like to get another to lash up.

Thanks, Pat Geddes
