Oddvar the Cat sits in the inner loop to watch Leif actually chases them. We though the True-Blast on a Willaims locom ight scare him off, but instead it attracts him to the trains.

Once he chased an MTH docksider, caught up with it and got a faceful of smoke. tha twas funny.

Hey dtpowell, I've got a "Holstein cow cat" also. My wife named him "Bovi" (short for Bovine). He's taken up residence under the layout. Apparently loud noises don't bother him as his favorite place is right under the highway crossing where I'm usually hitting the horns.

Our five cats all love my trains.....or at least they love to attempt to play with them. I've had to give up my dream of a layout under the tree because they destroy it after a day or two at most. They usually love to sit and watch it the first day or two, then they try to play with it.
As for a formal layout....much to my dismay when I didn't close off the train room from their access, I have found one or two of them lounging up on top of my layout or at least on my lower-level workbench.

My Husky, Kodi, is the name sake for my fictional village in which my train universe runs...Kodiak Junction. He was never really a train dog but had been known to come down and see what dad was up to. He passed away last year but as long as I model RR the town will always be Kodiak Junction.

Now we have a year old cat named Chloe. Once again she has no real interest besides just checking out what I'm up to. Nothing named for her yet.

And of course there is Stitch the Chinchilla. He's a captive audience as his dwelling is in the basement with the trains. Give him a raisin and he'll watch the trains for hours.

KIETH if there were anything to eat she would have eaten it herself instead of giving it out. One Easter she even ate the Easter bunnies kids. No joke either she ate 5 of the little guys later to throw them up on the living room floor.
YUK!!

All of our pets are train lovers - I'm just not a pet lover when it comes to their basement layout. The cats, Peppermint, Kinzie and Hobbit, have an unnerving ability to knock over the trees and fences when trotting calmly across the layout. The guinea pigs just sit there in their crates. Rudy the wonder dauchsund is more a true rail companion. He sleeps at my feet as 'we' run the trains.

Challenger likes to lay on his favorite plateau on my O guage layout. I made it specially for him, it is the only "incomplete" scenic item on any of my three current layouts.

I have a 5 YO "Holstein cow cat" named Bayr. He loves the trains too! He'll find a good vantage point when they are running and will genuinely gaze at them with interest when they're at rest.

Alright, alright if I really must admit. I have a cat named Chessie and my dog is a Scotti***erriors who are known by some as the 'railroad dog.' This is my third scottie since I was born and the first female dog. Her name is Scott. She goes to the hotspots with us a nd watches the trains as dilegently as me---LOL! Also, my cat Chessie likes trains more than likely because she likes loud noises. So yes I'm fessing up, I have rr pets!!

Oh and don't forget Bessie (Bessemer) my little miniature hamster! Poor lil' guy all locked up in a cage! LOL

I have a cat (appropriatly) named Challenger. Whenever I fire up my trains, be they my postwar Lionels or my contemporary HO scale models, he always wants in on the fun!
I know that I'm not the only one out there with railroader pets, so lay it on me.
